2 things are most likely to happen when you put a person under the lens.
Either they fake it or they show you the truth.
But no matter which path they take, they’ll be glorifying something.
Why is this relevant?
In a world where the internet is far reaching and cameras are in everyone’s pockets, dashboards, head gears, offices and homes, there’s always someone watching. At any given time, the human population can share and consume countless information. And when there’s that much information going around, it becomes harder to discern truths from lies.
Information, regardless of whether it’s true or not, is powerful. When we cannot discern one from the other, we become vulnerable to the influence of things that shouldn’t be glorified, and instead should be criticized, denounced or even condemned for the harm they may deal to people.
You think telling people that junk food has no ill effects to the human body and is therefore “okay” to consume should be glorified? Masked as a mere “opinion”, things like these are destructive information! And should you be vilifying someone who is “against” your perception of beauty because s/he believes that genes and age shouldn’t justify obesity?
These are just some contributors to the plague that is obesity. When people glorify the wrong things about health, unknowingly or deliberately, they empower obesity and the complications that come with.
In this regard, we invite you to consider the messages you’re putting on social media. What message are you sharing with the world? Whom or what are you glorifying with your lifestyle?
Under the lense, we are all contributors. It’s up to us to decide whether we contribute to the demise or the proliferation of good values, good conduct, good lifestyle, and of good health.
